Introduction of edta tube:

EDTA tube can be used in direct sampling analyzers without actually being opened. EDTA binds the calcium ions and therefore block the coagulation cascade. Erythrocytes, leucocytes and thrombocytes in an EDTA anticoagulated blood sample are stable for up to 24 hours.

EDTA has disodium, disodium, and tri potassium salts. Can combine with calcium ions to form chelates, thereby preventing blood clotting. EDTA salt can be dried at high temperatures, the anticoagulant effect is unchanged, usually mixed into 15g/L water solution, each bottle of 0.4ml, after drying can anticoagulant 5ml blood. EDTA salt has little effect on red and white blood cell morphology. According to the 1993 document of the International committee standard of hematology (ICSH), EDTA dipotassium is recommended as an anticoagulant for blood cell count. The dosage was 1.5-2.2mg (4.45±0.85μmol) /ml of blood EDTA-K2·2H2O. Both EDTA-Na2 and EDTA-K2 had little effect on blood count, but the solubility of disodium was significantly lower than that of dipotassium, which sometimes affected the anticoagulant effect. Other anticoagulants were not suitable for a blood count.
